A city in the Tuscany region of italy, It is a city that is based on three hills that are separated by ravins yet the city is unified by the wall that surrounds the whole city. The model below my interpretation of siena using charcoal and Strathmore paper as model making materials. Again i thought this was an interesting model making material because i again associate theses mediums with 2D representation. In the model I am representing the three hills of italy by crumpling strathmore paper and forming it into three bumps. I am using the charcoal to express the organic nature of siena’s topography and of course there is a strip of Strathmore at surrounding the edge of the Strathmore representing the cities wall.
